Media and Communications Office
The UNSW Media and Communications Office is responsible for the management of internal and external communications for the University.
Staffed by a team of highly experienced journalists, the Office handles all media liaison for UNSW. As well as responding to media queries, including requests for expert comment, the Office identifies and promotes newsworthy research and other achievements, across all faculties of the University, through mainstream and specialist media. It also provides media advice and training to senior executives, deans, heads of school and individual academics.
The Office maintains a database of close to 2000 academics who can provide expert comment on a range of issues.
The Office is responsible for corporate publications, including news content on the UNSW homepage and the University's flagship publication, Uniken.

Medical Illustration Unit
Professional scientific poster printing and laminating is just one service offered by the Medical Illustration Unit (MIU) at the Prince of Wales Hospital, which has 43 years of technical photography and graphic design experience.
MIU's website contains PowerPoint poster templates which may be personalised and emailed to the Unit for printing. The Unit's standard seven-working day service fee is $104 ($80 for Faculty of Medicine) via UNSW internal funds transfer. As well as the fully-laminated 0.84m x 1.19m (A0) final print, an A3 draft from the poster printer is provided for proofreading, plus assistance with any unusual problems.

Scientific Imaging

Staff Dining Room
The Staff Dining Room is for the University community, there are no membership requirements. It is open to all staff, postgraduate research students and their guests.
Located in the Tyree Room, The Scientia, it is open Monday to Friday from 10.30am for morning tea and 11.30am for lunch. Last orders will be taken by 2.15pm, closing about 3pm. There are some opening limitations due to exams and existing bookings.

The Stationery Reuse Centre
The Stationery Reuse Centre has free second-hand office supplies for staff. Located in B13, next to the Mail Room, the Centre is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
The Centre has a large range of ring-bound folders, internal envelopes (all sizes), hanging folders, in-trays, flip calendars, one-sided paper and box files. The Centre also stocks cassette tapes, videos, storage trays and other odds and ends.
As the Centre is not always staffed, visitors are asked to note details such as their department’s name, and quantity and type of items taken on a paper register located near the entrance.
If you have stationery supplies that your office no longer needs, please box them up and address to The Stationary Reuse Centre, B13 and post through the internal mail.

The Thoughtful Foods Co-operative
The Thoughtful Foods Co-operative, run by student volunteers, provides low-cost, minimally packaged organic food for the UNSW community.
The Co-op can deliver fresh organic fruit, vegetables and staples weekly to your office. Prices vary depending on the size of your delivery and whether or not you are a member of the Co-op.
The Co-op is open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 4pm on Fridays, depending upon volunteer availability. It is located on the Unigym side of the Roundhouse, made visible by colourful flags outside the shop.

U Committee
The U Committee is a group of friends of the University that raise funds to support a wide range of programs that otherwise might not be funded. Since its establishment in 1963, the U Committee has raised more than $2 million.
Book Fair
Preparations for the annual Book Fair take place in the Book Room, which is now located in Building R9 on the Randwick Campus. The Book Room is open every Monday from 8.30am to 3.30pm. Book donations can be delivered on Mondays and can also be left outside the Book Room on other days.

Newcomers
The U Committee also organises the Newcomers’ Coffee Morning in International House on Tuesdays from 10.30am to noon from March to December.
Visiting lecturers and postgraduate students and their partners and partners of new staff members are encouraged to attend. Children are welcome and fluency in English is not essential.
